Will we see the light?

Sagittarius 2016

Way back in 2010, I wrote about a conjunction of planets that was occurring at the time. In my Sagittarius 2010 post , I suggested themes associated with Jupiter and Uranus being together in the sky:

“At every level, personal to global, Uranus requires, or rather demands change. When Jupiter is involved we need to examine what we believe. Are our belief systems fit for purpose? Do we need to have a massive crisis of faith to get us moving on to a new strategy? Probably. A few keyword combos to get you going:

Large explosions, great innovation, stubborn faith, authoritarian Gods, huge expansions, leaps of faith, breakthroughs in religion, sudden new philosophies, unorthodox strategies, honest politics!

This is indeed a huge wake-up call – which strategy will you implement?”

Jupiter vs. Uranus

As we are currently at the half-way point in the Jupiter-Uranus cycle when Jupiter is opposite Uranus, the rest of my 2010 post contains information relevant to today’s themes and is worth reading again. The opposition is a time of reckoning. Harvest time for what we planted in 2010. Clearly the world didn’t take advantage of the possible benefits of that time slot, so we are now faced with having to deal with the sames themes again. And because of our lack of consciousness levels at that time, the universe is even more ‘in our face’ now, trying to wake us up to the same problems and possibilities on these themes. The question is: Will we see the light this time?

You reap what you sow

We don’t appear to be learning, so the lessons are getting harder. Honest politics? No – we get Trump. Unorthodox strategies? No  – we are trying to hang on to the old ones. Breakthroughs in religion? No – even more fundamentalism. Stubborn faith? Yes. Large explosions – Yes –  in terms of rebellions.

In fact we seem to be going backwards. There is a call in many places for laws (Jupiter) relating to abortion, gay marriage and women to be less ‘free’ (Uranus) rather than more open. There is very rigid judgment coming from religious quarters again. And rather than honesty (Uranus), we are getting so many lies and so much fake news, that we don’t know what to believe anymore, so we stick to our old faithful beliefs. What else can we do? But this is the wrong way to go at this point in this cycle! Of course there are also positive things happening, and the strategies that encompass these themes positively will have cosmic support.

And there’s more…

On top of all this, we have more in the mix this time. Uranus in Aries has been joined (for a while now) by Ceres, who I have often written about, and Eris, who I haven’t! Eris is the sister of Mars,  and like Ceres and Pluto, she is a dwarf planet. Her energy is new to us as she was only discovered in 2005, so we are trying to come to grips with her in terms of what is coming into consciousness. So we have this cosmic picture:

Eris, Ceres and Uranus in Aries at the top and Jupiter in Libra at the bottom.  All the (dwarf)-planets are slow moving, so this opposition is relevant for a longer period.  The exact dates for the Jupiter-Uranus opposition are : December 26, 2016, March 2, 2017 and September 27, 2017, so we have time until late 2017 to wake up to the possibilities of this opposition. And Eris will be active all this time even though Ceres gives up and moves away.

Women unite!

So Eris and Ceres are together with that explosive rebel Uranus. The young brave, fighting woman and the seasoned negotiator. What a mix! And all of this opposing that ‘God of Gods’, Jupiter. He doesn’t stand a chance. I hope he doesn’t anyway, if he plans to carry on in his usual manner with two of his favourite topics  – politics and religion. Jupiter is used to dealing with Uranus, as they have both been around for a while. He makes laws to put down rebels and brings in God to save an argument. But Ceres (older wise women) and Eris (feisty, brave, young ones) are new to him. My reading of this is that all women need to come together and be wise and brave to help bring change about. We need to fight and negotiate and not accept the old patriarchal ways. And this is happening.

Trouble and Strife –  Eris

If you search on my blog you can find information on Ceres, but Eris needs some explanation. She is a goddess who creates strife, by daring to challenge. This dwarf planet was almost named Xena, the warrior princess, and it is interesting that the UN had named Wonder Woman as their United Nations honorary ambassador for the empowerment of women and girls. I’m pleased to see that this last has been dropped, (we have good real life role models!), however the feeling these represent is fitting for Eris. Like her brother Mars, she is a warrior. An astrologer colleague of mine describes her as a whistle-blower (thanks Lea Manders), which I love. Interesting that Julian Assange has been in the spotlight again lately. In mythology, Eris makes the competition between three goddesses very visible by offering the fairest of them a golden apple. The resulting fight leads to the Trojan war! She will challenge anything based on a lies and is not afraid to upset the status-quo. I think it’s clear we need her!

And we are seeing her…

And so to advice

In many countries the political machine is clearly not working for everyone. This coming year is a perfect time for revolutionary change and women need to play a big part in it. The question is will we choose it or be forced into it? The church needs a major overhaul – it’s a good time for that too. Another of Jupiter’s area is travel – in particular by air. There is a chance for innovative ideas here but do we dare? We need to have a strategy for finding the truth – both on social media and in our own lives. Or will fear be a major obstacle? It is our choice. I hope there are enough people who can create a tipping point for positive change this time.

“A revolution is coming — a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough; compassionate if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough — but a revolution which is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character; we cannot alter its inevitability. ” Robert F Kennedy, Report to the United States Senate on his trip to Latin America and the Alliance for Progress, May 9, 1966.

  1. I would like it to be peaceful, all women would, but I think we need to take heed of leonard Cohen’s last words, as it might, I’m afraid, be forced upon us…………

    They’re lining up the prisoners
And the guards are taking aim
    I struggled with some demons
They were middle class and tame
I didn’t know I had permission to murder and to maim
